Wilson Reading System curriculum benefits every learner, no matter their learning differences.
My goal is to help your child feel less frustrated as they become better at the basics through proven intervention-based curriculums provided by the Wilson Reading System and Really Great Reading.
I teach the curriculum in a clear and effective way—starting by looking at your child’s data to see where they need to improve. Then I create a customized plan just for them so their reading fluency and comprehension can improve significantly.
To best support your child's academic growth, sessions are 60 minutes each, and I suggest a minimum of two sessions per week. Other lesson lengths and frequencies are available upon request.
I focus on three key areas for your child’s literacy journey:
Foundational Literacy
Build a strong reading foundation by mastering the essentials, including understanding sounds, words, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Transcription
Develop writing and spelling skills through structured instruction that connects sounds to letters, empowering students to encode their thoughts clearly and confidently in writing.
Written Expression
Develop diverse writing skills encompassing sentence construction, genre awareness, content knowledge, planning, revision, and editing to enhance overall communication.

Reading Brain operates on a tuition-based system, where parents pay a monthly tuition fee. This fee is based on the weekly commitment agreed to. I have set this frequency intentionally because it ensures a consistent and effective learning experience for your child.

Lessons for tutoring sessions are primarily remote. However, I also offer the option for sessions at your child's school or in your home if you are based in the Lisbon area. Please note that arrangements for off-site sessions are made on a case-by-case basis and may incur an additional $25 per session fee for lessons that require travel to the student.

I provide regular progress updates to parents via email. These emails may include specific details about the content your child is learning and practicing, the focus of upcoming sessions, achievements, concerns, any scheduling changes or interferences, business updates, and options to support your child's progress at home. Upon request, I can also include teachers and other professionals by cc'ing them on these updates.

The specific lesson days and times are determined through mutual agreement between the parent and myself, and these sessions will occur on a weekly basis. This approach ensures a consistent and predictable schedule for the student, the parent, and the tutor. In case a student needs to make up a lesson or reschedule a regularly scheduled session, I am more than happy to communicate my availability and make suitable arrangements.
